Wicklow Mountains National Park: Nature Explorers - Every Wednesday in July & August 2019

Learn how to identify and appreciate the natural world. Activities are aimed at children aged 5 to 11 years. The theme for each week is listed below.

10th July - Pond Dipping
17th July - Bird Watching
24th July - Butterfly Safari
31st July - History Detectives
August
07th August - Moth Recording
14th August - Flowers & Pollinators
21st August - Mammal Tracking
28th August - Treasure Hunts
Where: Meet at the National Park Information Office, Upper Lake, Glendalough
When: Wednesdays in July & August at 11am
Duration: between 1 and 1.5 hours
Practicalities: This is an outdoor programme, and most activities will take place off track (not suitable for buggies). Please dress accordingly. Please note that an adult must stay with their children, and be prepared to help. No dogs. This event is free of charge, but please be aware that the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Council) has a €4 charge.

This event is organised by education staff based at Wicklow Mountains National Park who are employed by the National Parks & Wildlife Service under the aegis of Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
