Wicklow Mountains National Park: Nature Explorers - Wednesdays in July & August 2017

Learn how to identify and appreciate the natural world. Activities are aimed at children aged 5 to 11 years. This is an outdoor programme, and most activities will take place off track. Please dress accordingly. The theme for each week is listed below.
- 5 July: Flowers
- 12 July: Moths & Butterflies
- 19 July: Trees
- 26 July: Squirrels
- 2 August: Bugs
- 9 August: Bats
- 16 August: Badgers
- 23 August: Birds
Where: Meet at the large National Park sign in the corner of the Upper Lake Car Park, Glendalough
When: Wednesdays in July & August at 2 pm.
Duration: between 1.5 and 2 hours
Practicalities: Adults & children welcome. Please note that an adult must stay with their children, and be prepared to help! No dogs. This event is free of charge, but please be aware that the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Council) has a €4 charge.
Booking: Booking is essential. Sessions can fill up extremely quickly. In order to make it fair for all, bookings will be taken from 9 a.m. one week prior to each Nature Explorers day. To book, please phone 0404 45656 (Mon to Fri).
This event is organised by education staff based at Wicklow Mountains National Park who are employed by the National Parks & Wildlife Service under the aegis of Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
