Insect Identification Event at Glendalough, Saturday 6th August

Date Released: Friday, July 22, 2016

More and more adults are becoming interested in identifying the nature around them. This walk is aimed at identifying some of the easier insect groups – butterflies, ladybirds, damselflies & dragonflies, bumblebees, grasshoppers, earwigs and shieldbugs. We shall be using the book ‘Insects of Ireland’ by Stephen McCormack and Eugenie Regan, and participants are welcome to bring a copy along (but this is not essential). By the end of the walk, participants should feel confident about their ability to identify species, and may even wish to start recording them.

Where: The Information Office, by the Upper Lake, Glendalough.

When: Saturday 6th August 2016 @11 a.m.

Practicalities: Adults & older children only. No dogs. This event is free of charge, but please be aware that the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Council) has a €4 charge.
